Welcome

Our Ethos
At Valley Road our aim is to provide a happy, friendly, caring and stimulating environment where children grow in self-esteem and achieve their full potential
Welcome to Valley Road School. On this web site you will find a range of information which we hope will give you a taste of what life is like at Valley Road. We hope you will find the information both interesting and informative and will encourage you to come and visit the school in person. We are very proud of our school and all the members of our community who contribute to its success. We hope if you should visit us, you would find the school a warm and welcoming place where children are encouraged and assisted in reaching their full potential.
In June 2007, the school underwent a full OFSTED Inspection. We are pleased to include the following summary from their report.
“This is a good school where pupils of all abilities make good progress and reach standards that are above average. Parents are very supportive of the school and many appreciate the good teaching and welcoming atmosphere.
All pupils achieve well, whatever their ability, and many pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities reach the nationally expected standards for their age. Pupils achieve particularly well in art, music and information and communication technology (ICT), and standards are above average.”
If you would like to read the report in full, it can be found on the internet on www.ofsted.gov.uk or in the Documents section of this site.
This site is aimed primarily at prospective parents. If there is something you wish to find but is not on the site then let us know and we will be happy to assist you.
For parents with children already in the school, please follow the link to the Kaleidos learning platform. This secure site will contain up to date information on current events and happenings along with photographs and other relevant information. You will also find class pages with information on planned trips and work currently being covered.
best wishes
Tim Coulson Headteacher
