At Valley Road Primary School we aim to provide a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum that inspires children to develop curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.

Our curriculum ensures strong foundations in English and mathematics, while also providing rich learning opportunities across the wider curriculum including science, humanities, the arts, computing and physical education.

As a single-form entry school, teachers know pupils well and are able to support each child’s learning and progress effectively.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2022) recognised the strength of the curriculum, noting that “the core subjects are of high quality” and that leaders are “crystal clear about what teachers need to do.”

Learning is enriched through a range of opportunities including school trips, themed learning days, clubs and sporting activities which help children develop confidence, creativity and independence.

We hold three parent consultation evenings each year to discuss progress and achievements and provide a small written report three times a year.
