Starting primary school is an exciting milestone for both children and their families, and we work closely with parents to ensure that the transition to Valley Road is a positive and reassuring experience.

Once your child has been offered a place, we provide opportunities for families to become familiar with the school before the start of term. These may include visits to the classroom, opportunities to meet staff and information sessions for parents.

During the first weeks of school, we focus on helping children feel settled, confident and happy in their new environment. Our staff take time to get to know each child as an individual and support them as they build friendships and become familiar with school routines.

Communication with parents is very important to us. We keep families informed through regular updates, newsletters and meetings, and we encourage parents to speak to staff whenever they have questions or concerns.

If you would like to visit the school or learn more about joining Valley Road, please contact the school office and we will be happy to help.

You will be shown around by the Headteacher and the visit lasts for half an hour. If you have any questions he will be happy to answer them.
